MESSAGE FROM THE ESTATE MANAGER

Great estates aren’t built on bricks and land alone, but on the people who care for them. Together, we create spaces where families feel safe, communities grow stronger, and every day runs a little smoother.

As we step into 2026, the sentiment that a community is defined by its people has never felt truer for Fourways Gardens Residential Estate. While our homes, parks, and facilities form the physical foundation of the Estate, it is our people—dedicated teams, engaged residents, and the broader community—who truly bring it to life.

Behind the scenes, a committed group of professionals works tirelessly every day to ensure that Fourways Gardens remains a place we are proud to call home. From security and landscaping to maintenance, administration, and management, these individuals consistently go above and beyond. Their care and commitment are evident in every safe evening, every beautifully maintained space, and every smooth-running operation. Much of this work happens quietly, but its impact is felt by us all.

Late last year, our residents once again demonstrated the generosity and community spirit that define Fourways Gardens. Gift card handouts to our security and landscaping teams were met with heartfelt appreciation, marking the highest collection to date—a powerful reflection of both the exceptional work these teams do and the respect they have earned. We also extend our sincere thanks to residents who donated biscuits, cool drinks, and other thoughtful treats during the festive season. These gestures mean a great deal to the dedicated men and women who keep our Estate safe and secure, especially in 2025, which truly tested their commitment.

Last year was wetter than average, with rainfall levels exceeding those recorded as far back as 1993. What made 2025 particularly challenging were not only the total volumes of rain but also the high-intensity events throughout the year. We extend special thanks to resident Jerry de Boer for diligently tracking and sharing the Estate’s rainfall data with the HOA.

We have also continued to invest in the shared spaces that bring our community together. Projects completed late last year and early this year include upgrades to the Phase 1 park gazebo and bathrooms, new fencing between the bike park and dog park, painting road markings and repairing potholes, as well as the Phase 2 tennis gazebo floor upgrade. The speedhump installation on Bushwillow Road, together with new paving and walkways near the dog parks and trailer storage areas, has also been completed. We thank residents who supported the speedhump initiative by signing the petition back in 2024—a long journey, but one that has delivered meaningful
improvements to both safety and aesthetics.

Innovation and operational efficiency remain key focus areas. Facial recognition access control has been successfully implemented, and we proudly launched the Fourways Gardens Estate App, bringing access control, facilities bookings, and communications together on one streamlined platform. Goods removals are now fully automated, eliminating paper forms and simplifying the process for residents. This is just the beginning—watch this space as we continue rolling out new features designed to enhance convenience and connectivity across the Estate.

Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be an exciting year filled with progress, projects, and renewed community energy. We are delighted to introduce new events, starting with our Farmers Market on Sunday, 1 February 2026, in the Phase 1 park—a wonderful opportunity to support local vendors and experience the vibrant spirit of Fourways Gardens. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the Gardens Bistro will also be on hand to help make the occasion special, whatever your plans may be.

We’ll also be showing love for our pets this February, with a Love Your Pets Expo on Saturday, 14 February 2026. The Expo will feature vaccinations and microchipping with Dog’s Trust, pet behaviour advice with Jeanette Furstenberg, gourmet dog treats from The Dog Duchess, and all that your pets could need from The Pet Collective. Identipet will be available to assist with microchip registration updates, while Francesca Beattie Properties has partnered with us to ensure that Dog’s Trust and Woodrock Animal Rescue receive an extra financial boost to continue their vital work.

Fourways Gardens is more than just an estate—it is a sanctuary within the city, built through collaboration, care, and shared pride. Thank you to our residents, teams, and partners for continuing this journey with us.
